No — and that's intentional. We designed it this way because we also hope this device can help prevent infant drownings. The idea is for a parent to attach the device to their child at home (for households with a pool), while keeping their own device on and nearby. If the child falls into the pool, the water disrupts the connection between the two devices, triggering an alert so the parent can hopefully reach the child in time.
Note: The device will tolerate light exposure to moisture (such as rain), but will not work after immersion.
AlertGuard prevents you from losing your personal items or purse before you walk too far away from them. Other tracking devices track your purse or personal items after you've already lost them — which means it may be too late to find and retrieve them. Since thieves are aware of these devices, they're more likely to remove and discard the tracker, keeping your personal items or purse. This can create a major hassle, from replacing your driver's license to canceling your credit cards.
Alert Guard devices come in pairs and connected to each other via Wi-Fi signals. They don't require any network connection. Simply pair the devices following the instructions in your manual, and when the devices are more than 30 feet apart, they will begin to beep and blink. Bring them closer together again, and they will stop.
